[UE] UMG Editor Toolbars

Have you ever wanted to create your own toolbar widgets but didn't know how? Slate was too intimidating? The example only showed how to make a button? Look no further!

This plugin will let you add custom UMG widgets to the editor toolbar!

But what can I do with this?

Anything you can do with Editor Utility Widgets, you can do in your toolbars! Like a Time of Day slider/picker, or any other custom tools that you don't want to bury in Properties!

If you need inspiration, I've created a Time of Day picker for my project with 2 buttons allowing me to quickly switch between the current lighting scenario sublevel and the persistent level for editing. Saves a bunch of clicks I would have done if not for this!

How do I use this?

You will need to create a standard Editor Utility Widget (and all your sub-widgets you're going to create should also use those) and add a "Toolbar Interface" for it to show up in the Project Settings. You can add your newly created toolbar widget to the UMGToolbar Settings section in Game settings.

When I drag a slider/interact with a menu/etc, the editor doesn't update unless I let go of it!

This is not a problem with the plugin, but I do include a node called "Redraw Level Editing Viewports" available through the UMG Toolbar Editor Subsystem that you can call to update the level viewports on Tick for example while dragging a slider or interacting with a menu, etc.

Bear in mind, this will re-render the viewports with every call, so use this sparingly!
